Elisabetta Canalis George Clooney, Saying your ex-boyfriend was like a dad during your relationship is probably one of the biggest insults ever, but Elisabetta Canalis doesn't think so. E! News reported the booted Dancing with the Stars contestant reveals in a new book, titled Questo Amore (This Love), her two year relationship with George Clooney was more like one between a father and daughter than two lovers.
She told the book's author, Italian journalist Bruno Vespa, that the 50-year-old was "the person who valued my feminine side the most" and "also one of the best people I have met from a charitable point of view."
The 33-year-old adds, "He has been a special for me, and very important, just as a father would be. Between us there was more of a father-daughter relationship. I was unable to clarify this up 'til now."
According to People, Canalis doesn't blame the former couple's break-up on Clooney's hesitancy to tie the knot.
"George and I never spoke of marriage nor of having kids. I don't put limits to the possibility of having them, but neither George nor I had ever envisaged having kids together," she said. clooney canalis split over marriage
"The end of the relationship was not caused by a marriage issue, but instead by our personal needs."
And Canalis holds no grudges against the Oscar winner, even though he's moved on with Stacy Keibler.
"George is a real gentleman even in his private life," she says. "I was very much respected both as a woman and partner."
