$1M in pot on beach
$1M in pot on beach, An estimated $1 million worth of marijuana was found Thursday close by to a boat that had crashed on a beach near Vandenberg Air Force Base, reports L.A. Now.

Homeland Security swiftly took over the investigation soon after, and removed the piles of pot from the sand. They had been covered in trash bags and brush, possibly in an attempt to camouflage the packages.....laist.

Initially Vandenberg officials were looking for "potential suspects," however with Homeland Security now in charge, there's been no information made available about people possibly connected to the damaged boat, and no details about anyone either injured or arrested.

The boat is described as being a 20-foot aluminum vessel, according to the Santa Maria Times, who adds: "The overturned boat’s engine had been removed, but authorities weren’t sure whether it was taken off on purpose or came off when the boat crashed ashore.

Authorities are working to remove the rest of the boat from the beach, and the investigation is ongoing.
