Joe Perry unaware of Idol news
While for some who come from a rock music background, like contestant James Durbin, the choice of an Aerosmith song or two seemed the appropriate route to go.
While contest judge and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has been trying to sway contestants from performing his band’s songs, rumors that an on-stage appearance by the group have begun to circulate.
“I don’t know anything about it,” said Aerosmith lead guitarist, Joe Perry.
Perry said during a recent interview that neither Tyler nor his manager have made any mention of it to him. The rest of Aerosmith is in agreement with Perry. The rumors are news to them.
“No one’s said anything to me about it,” Perry continued. “All I know is that we’re working on an Aerosmith album this summer.”
