Jim Carrey eBay

Jim Carrey eBay
Jim Carrey eBay, An eBay seller that began auctioning off his autographed picture of Jim Carrey in order to buy a Glock has apparently been ordered to alter or remove his listing from the website.

The seller — who goes by the name “astrobuzz” — said in the original listing that he was selling an old signed photograph of Mr. Carrey in order to by a gun to protect his family, in response to the actor’s recent music video making fun of gun owners and Charlton Heston.

The listing quickly became an internet hit on Wednesday, but now it seems to have mysteriously disappeared. The Hollywood Reporter first noted that that the listing was altered late Wednesday night to read: “I’m selling this Jim Carrey autographed B&W photo (mint condition) for purposes I cannot explain because it might be against eBay’s Terms & Conditions.”

As of Thursday afternoon, astrobuzz’s listing has been completely removed from the auctioning website.

Many copycats came up out of the woodwork, either saying they were using funds from Jim Carrey memorabilia to buy firearms, take concealed permit courses and join the NRA. However, the Reporter notes that every listing had the word “gun” removed later on.

eBay did not respond to a request for comment.
