Gwyneth Paltrow Goop

Gwyneth Paltrow Goop, Remember the last time you went to New York City and wished you had a pocket-sized Gwyneth Paltrow telling you what to see, do, eat and drink? Yeah, we don't either. But that doesn't mean the self-proclaimed lifestyle guru shouldn't create her own iPhone app to ensure you don't muddle your way through the planet's major cities.

To prevent just such a catastrophe, Paltrow announced this week in her you-could-be-just-like-me-if-you-were-a-skinny-rich-famous-celebrity blog that she is launching her first digital city guide for visitors to New York City. "I have always dreamed of finding a city guide that would be just right for me, like a trusted friend whose opinion you knew you could count on," she confided to her 53 subscribers. "After years of being steered in the wrong direction by bribed concierges, biased opinions and just plain bad suggestions, I decided to create what I had been missing: The GOOP City Guide!"

The tour-guide-in-a-phone is divided into nine categories such as walks, bars and beauty and -- for the benefit of commoners -- some chauffeur named Rudy's "affordable" restaurant recommendations. At $3.99, the app is currently available only in English. (If it's British English, don't be alarmed if Gwynnie tells you where the water closet is hidden at her favorite vegan deli. It's not where she stocks up on her Bling H2O.)
