Drunken woman + bikini wax + Iowa City
According to criminal complaints, 39-year-old Anna K. Bacon-Silveira went to Zender’s Salon and Spa at 1:15 p.m. Monday to get a bikini wax. Police said Bacon-Silveira was intoxicated and was denied service by Zender’s employees.
Bacon-Silveira allegedly became upset and hit someone in the head. She also snapped a towel at an employee, police said.
Police said Bacon-Silveira fled the business on foot and was running behind the nearby Iowa City Police Department when she was stopped. Officers said Bacon-Silveira appeared to be “very intoxicated” and admitted to drinking. She was incoherent and difficult to communicate with, police said.
Bacon-Silveira refused a post-arrest breath test and told officers she was angry that Zender’s wouldn’t give her a bikini wax. She was arrested and charged with assault and intoxication.
Jail officials said Bacon-Silveira entered guilty pleas to the charges at her initial appearance Tuesday morning and was fined. A phone number for Bacon-Silveira could not be found, and she could not be reached for comment.
