Bloc Party confirm Kele Okereke exit, Bloc Party confirm Kele Okereke exit and audition new singers, The band insisted that there are no “bad vibes” between themselves and Okereke, but they plan to hold auditions for a new frontman.The news follows Okereke’s admission that he had spotted his fellow Bloc Party members outside a rehearsal studio in New York without him last month.Guitarist Russell Lissack told NME: “It’s not really a secret because Kele’s been pretty busy doing solo stuff and it looks like he’s going to be doing that a bit longer.”The other three of us wanted to meet up and make music. We were talking about just doing an instrumental thing, but now we might get a singer as well, to properly put some music out and play some shows.”
Lissack reiterated that there was no bad blood between the group and Okereke, but confirmed the singer’s previous claims that they haven’t spoken for a few months.
He concluded: “I haven’t spoken to Kele for a couple of months, I guess since the festivals when I was doing stuff with Ash. But there’s no bad vibes.”
Meanwhile, Okereke recently debuted his new solo single ‘What Did I Do’, which features Lucy Taylor and will be released on November 7. Bloc Party confirm Kele Okereke exit,
