+Mom Baby Taco Bell

+Mom Baby Taco Bell. A mom has been charged by police who say she tried to sell her baby for $500 at a Washington Taco Bell.

That is the lowball price cited by authorities that was sought by Heidi Lynn Gasaway, they claim the 36-year old mom was asking between $500-$5,000 in Vancouver, Wash. at a Taco Bell for the 3-day old baby.

A woman that was approached called police.

"I just don't understand how she would take a baby like that and try to sell it," said Oliver Morris, owner of Kay Motel, where Gasaway was arrested Friday.
The NY Daily News reports Gasaway was charged with attempted child selling-buying and was held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

The report adds "she's also facing drug possession, theft and bail-jumping charges from outstanding warrants."

One friend says she may be suffering from post-partum depression and painted a picture of a desperate woman who was just turned away from homeless shelter with her newborn.

However, police say she seemed drunk or high at the time of the bust, though Gasaway told them she'd been clean from methamphetamine for a year.

The baby is in child protective services system and the woman could face five years in prison.
