According to The A.V. Club, “Temptation” focuses on a wife (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) who cheats on her husband. Jurnee’s character works as an assistant to a millionaire matchmaker a la Bravo’s Patti Stranger, and Kim plays one of Jurnee’s coworkers, a character that's described as being “bitchy” and “backstabbing”. Tyler Perry must be a very big reality show fan.
Here’s one of Kim Kardashian’s lines from the movie: “That’s not make-up, that’s make-down.” This was probably supposed to be an “Oh, snap!” moment, but the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” writers could probably come up with something better.
A roundup of reviews by The Stir describe Kim’s performance as “nasal and awful” and “a true feat of stunt casting that’s only made all the more impressive by her inability to inject the slightest bit of emotion into her steady stream of insults.” So basically Kim just tried to play herself and failed.
Tyler Perry probably didn’t think that he was gambling by casting Kim in “Temptation” -- he probably just saw dollar signs when he thought about how many of her “dolls” would buy tickets to see the film. However, critics are trying extremely hard to convince moviegoers to avoid the temptation to check out “Temptation.”
Now that Kim is pregnant with the child of a celebrity that some actually consider talented, she might be trying to leave her reality show days behind. She proved that she can’t sing with her song “Jam (Turn It Up),” so she likely decided that acting was the way to go. However, some folks may have forgotten that she's tried her hand at acting before -- her performance in “Disaster Movie” earned her a Razzie Award. But perhaps she convinced herself that she still has a shot at becoming a thespian after learning that Oscar winners Halle Berry and Sandra Bullock have also snagged Razzies.
Kim has let negative press stop her before -- she was criticized for only being married to Kris Humphries for 72 days, but instead of laying low, she got knocked up by Kanye West before her divorce was finalized. And this is the celeb who survived a sex tape scandal.
So it doesn’t matter how hard Kim gets slammed by critics, whether they’re taking on her acting, her weight, or how fake her reality shows are -- she’s not going anywhere anytime soon, and there will always be someone out there like Tyler Perry who will hire her as an “actress” because of her famous name.
The Beauty and a Beat singer is being investigated for battery following a heated verbal argument outside his LA county home. LA’s sheriff department is reported to have been preparing to recommend criminal charges to be filed against the 19-year-old.
