AAA projects 91.9 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from their home from Dec. 23 to Jan. 2.
That's 29 percent of the total population.
This year's expected holiday travel volume is the second highest in the past decade.
In the Pacific Northwest, 15.3 million people are expected to travel. That's an increase of 1.4 percent from last year.
