Bar bans high-tech glasses
Bar bans high-tech glasses, A Seattle bar bans high-tech glasses is making a buzz on the internet this weekend, as MSN News reported this Saturday, March 9, that bar goers may have to choose between a glass of beer and Google glasses sooner than later, as one dive bar has “banned” the eyewear already.Under the headline, “Seattle dive bar bans high-tech glasses in advance”, sources report that The Emerald City’s Point Café has already banned any customers from wearing or even bringing in the new Google Glass technology, which are capable of taking clear-cut pictures and video in “easier … and stealthier” ways than regular cameras ever could.......examiner.
Owner Dave Meinert recently said to one local radio station that the reason behind the bar bans high-tech glasses headline is that the patrons at the dive bar don’t want to be known, and that privacy is most important. With the Google glasses still a ways off and certainly not a common sight — yet, at least — the Point Café seems to be making this outlawed eyewear statement clearly in advance.
"[The bar’s] a seedy, maybe notorious, place, and I think people want to go there and not be known," owner Dave Meinert told a local radio station. It's clearly a rough and tumble spot: A Facebook post explaining the policy states that “ass kickings will be encouraged for violators."
