Woman dies on plane,  A 25-year-old woman dies on plane from Brazil to Texas. The tragic news happened on Wednesday, Jan. 2 due to a health issue. She was a passenger on an American Airlines flight 96 traveling from San Paolo, Brazil to Houston, Texas.

About halfway into the flight, the woman needed emergency attention. It was then that the airplane was diverted to Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas. Unfortunately, the passenger died on the flight. The airline will not mention what happened to the young woman.

Doctors are said to perform an autopsy of the woman. The police reported that there was no foul play or sign of trauma. Only her family members will know of the autopsy results.

ABC reports that police have not yet released the woman’s name. Her body has been taking to the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. There will be an extended investigation into her mysterious death.

The American Airlines flight carried about 220 passengers, and left to Dallas-Forth Worth at 9 a.m. The medical emergency was reported at 6:30 p.m. The female passenger shortly dies on the plan after staff rushed to make an emergency landing.

The company released a statement about the emergency:

"American Airlines flight 962 today from Sao Paolo (GRU) to Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) diverted to Houston (IAH) because of a medical emergency. We can’t provide any information about the ill passenger, but we can provide details about the flight. AA962 departed GRU at 1:12 a.m. and diverted to IAH at 6:34 a.m. It left IAH at 9:05 a.m. and landed at DFW at 10:25 a.m. It was a Boeing 777 with 220 passengers and a crew of 14."
