San Francisco banned nudity restaurant, A plan to regulate public nudity in San Francisco is set to go before a Board of Supervisors' committee.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/qKXQOD) that the board's Public Safety Committee will consider the proposal by Supervisor Scott Wiener at a hearing scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at City Hall.

Wiener wants nudists to cover up in restaurants. His proposal would also require them to put a cloth or other barrier under their bottoms if they take a seat in public.

Public nudity isn't illegal in San Francisco. But Wiener says he is concerned about public health and sanitation and wants nudists to show basic courtesy to others. san francisco banned nudity restaurant

Some nudists say the proposal is unnecessary since putting down a towel is already etiquette among nudists.

Nudists are welcome to testify at Thursday's hearing although under City Hall rules they would have to cover up. mercurynews
