Mariska Hargitay adopts baby Andrew
The 47 year-old actress and her husband recently decided to file the paperwork for another adoption, but they never imagined that a week later they would become parents again. Mariska and Peter, who also have a 5 year-old son named August, were surprised by how quickly it happened.
“We never in a million year thought it would happen this quickly, but something inside of us knew that this was right, and we said, ‘Yes, yes, yes!’” says Mariska. “We knew this was our guy. Everything about it felt right. It felt divinely right.”
According to Mariska, Amaya and Andrew, born over the summer, have already created a bond. “They’ll lie in the crib together, and she’ll hold his hand and put her arm around him,” she said. “She’s already so protective of him.”
