Loyal dog China grave
Loyal dog China grave, loyal dog china kennel A loyal dog has held a vigil for more than a week at the grave of its owner in China, prompting villagers to plan to build a kennel for it in the cemetery.

The yellow dog disappeared earlier this month after the death of Lao Pan, a solitary 68-year-old man in the village of Panjiatun, south of Beijing.

It was later found beside the grave of Mr Lao, not even leaving to eat.

A concerned local tried to take the animal home with him, but to no avail.

"I gave him a steamed bun when he came to my home," he told the BBC.

"The dog caught the bun and ran back."

Now villagers are bringing food and water to the cemetery and are planning to build a kennel by the grave.

The story is similar to that of Greyfriar Bobby, a Skye Terrier who stayed 14 years by its owner's grave in Scotland in the mid-1800s.

And earlier this year another loyal dog refused to leave the funeral of its owner, a US Navy SEAL killed in Afghanistan.
