First date for Florida teenagers ends in jail, Florida police arrested two teenagers last week for allegedly attempting a ‘dine-and-dash’ after a romantic first meal at T.G.I. The manager told police that after they finished eating, Sanders, of Vero Beach, left the patio and walked toward Macy’s.
He said Norling asked where the bathroom was.
After leaving the restroom, Norling walked in a back room and allegedly tried to leave via a fire exit.
An alarm sounded and the manager said he directed Norling to the patio and re-set the alarm.
He said a waitress gave Norling the bill and that Norling was seen ‘opening up his wallet and taking out nothing and putting the wallet back inside of his pocket.’
The manager said Norling eventually hopped over the patio gate and ran toward Macy’s, gawker.com reports.
The police were called who picked up the young couple in the parking lot.
Norling told deputies he was ‘basically homeless and had nothing to eat for a couple a days.’
He also told the manager that it was the couple’s first date.
Both teens face charges of obtaining food with intent to defraud.
Police also charged Sanders with possession of drug paraphernalia after allegedly finding a pot pipe in her purse.
There was no word on what they ate before allegedly running off.
