Authorities in Lancaster, Ohio are trying to solve a panty mystery as thousands of pairs were found littering trees and streets.
Berne Township is just a small part of Fairfield county located about 30 miles southeast of Columbus. Some of them appeared to have been worn while others were still in packages, leading police to assess that the suspected litterbug is probably connected to a clothing discount store or grocery.
Deputy Gary Hummel said on Thursday that there were 1500 to 3000 pairs in a variety of patterns and colors. Enough to fill 10 large plastic bags. There were four dumping locations found covering a mile stretch of road reported CBS news WBNS out of Columbus. Hummel says investigators are “baffled” by this find.
