The trailer shows Lopez driving the Fiat Cabrio, including one scene in which a man rolls off the hood. She is later helped out of the top of the car prior to a dance scene.
Fiat's deal with Lopez is just the latest in a long string of partnerships between automakers and artists. Lotus recently enlisted rapper Swizz Beatz to help it sharpen its image. Chrysler also used rapper Eminem to great advantage earlier this year during his appearance in its Super Bowl commercial. That commercial has now been viewed nearly 13 million times on YouTube.
Lopez will appear in commercials for the 2012 Fiat 500 which are slated to debut later in the year, according to Chrysler.
"Jennifer fits perfectly with the brand not because of who she is but because of what she is — authentic, passionate, modern and a fighter determined to stand out from the rest," said Olivier Francois, Chrysler chief marketing officer in a statement.
Chrysler did not disclose what it is paying Lopez for her celebrity endorsement of Fiat.
Most recently, Lopez, a 42-year-old mother of two, has been at the center of a high-profile divorce from the singer Marc Anthony. She has sold over 55 million records worldwide.
