Where are they now? Cast of 21 'Jump Street'. When FOX released this hip young cop show, it was groundbreaking in its dealings of social issues among young adults and launched the career of one of today's biggest movie stars, Johnny Depp. Now that filming has wrapped on the big-screen reboot we take a look at what former cast members have been up to.
Johnny Depp
When: 1987-1990
Then: Before Depp played Officer Tom Hanson, another actor convinced him to pursue acting. He made his film debut in a Wes Craven horror flick and landed a small part in an award-winning war movie.
Now: Look for him in this summer's blockbuster "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides". He's currently filming a movie with director Tim Burton
Richard Grieco
When: 1988-1989
Then: Greico a former model, played Dennis Booker on two seasons before starring in his own spinoff "Booker"
Now: Has been seen in mostly B-movies and on TV. He's also worked as a musician and released a CD in 1995. He recently starred in a SYFY channel movie as a Norse god.
Peter DeLuise
When: 1987-1990
Then: Before the oldest son of this famous comedian played Officer Doug Penhall, he had a role in a 1979 comedy with his famous father.
Now: From 1994-1996 DeLuise played Dagwood in an NBC science fiction show. He also worked with another science fiction franchise as a director, producer, actor and writer.
Holly Robinson Peete
When: 1987-1991
Then: Robinson-Peete grew up around this popular children's show while her father was an original cast member. She made her film debut in a 1986 big-budget flop.
Now: She changed her name in 1995 after her marriage to an NFL quarterback. She's currently a host on a new daytime women's show and was the recipient of this award for her work as a mother.
Michael Bendetti
When: 1990-1991
Then: Bendetti joined the fifth season of the show as Officer Anthony "Mac" McCann. He had small parts on a Neil Patrick Harris show and stared in this raunchy 1988 movie.
Now: The actor hasn't been in seen in film or television since 1995 when he did a TV movie about an alien falling in love
Dustin Nguyen
When: 1987-1990
Then: The Vietnamese actor fled with his family from Vietnam in 1975. Before he played Officer Harry Truman Ioki, he had a part in a Tom Selleck cop show.
Now: He had a recurring role on cop show "V.I.P." from 1999-2002. Nguyen took a break from acting in 2001 after his wife's 2001 car accident. He's acting again and won an award in 2009.
Steven Williams
When: 1987-1991
Then: Before playing Captain Adam Fuller, he was drafted into the army and competed in this sport for the Army. In 1985 he was in the sequel to an action flick with a big-named action star.
Now: He landed a recurring role from 1994 to 2002 as Mr. X on a FOX network hit show, and has made appearances more recently in "Supernatural," and a hit ABC series.
Frederic Forrest
When: 1987
Then: Captain Richard Jenko only lasted five episodes but Forrest was already an established actor. He appeared in a Francis Ford Coppola war epic and was nominated for an Academy Award for this Bette Midler film.
Now: In 2006 he was in a film with Sean Penn based on a Robert Penn Warren novel. In 1989 he was in a made-for-TV miniseries of another popular novel.
Michael DeLuise
When: 1989-1991
Then: The second son of Dom DeLuise and the brother to costar Peter DeLuise, he played Officer Joey Penhall. He was on this short-lived TV show set in Seattle, and made his film debut with his brother and father.
Now: Was in a "Saturday Night Live" movie's classic head banging scene and from 2004 to 2007 played T.J. in a popular mother-daughter series
Sal Jenco
When: 1987-1990
Then: Jenco's role as Sal "Blowfish" Banducci was his debut in the acting world. His longtime friendship with Johnny Depp helped him land the role.
Now: He appeared with pal Depp in this 1998 gangster film and co-owned a hot Los Angeles night club with Depp
