Johnny Depp Fear Clowns
Johnny Depp Fear Clowns, The reason for his coulrophobia? Because, as he stated in an interview with Australia’s Courier Mail newspaper, “it’s impossible, thanks to their painted-on smiles, to distinguish if they are happy or if they are about to bite your face off!” Depp went on to say, “there always seemed to be a darkness lurking just under the surface, a potential for real evil.” It makes you wonder what kind of potential he thinks characters such as Edward Scissorhands or his version of Willy Wonka have…
The British actor was left traumatised and said that the experience had stayed with him ever since, leading to fears he was forced to confront whilst making his latest film.
He told US television programme The Today Show: “The first time I went to the circus somebody died. One of the clowns died. His little car exploded. The joke car exploded on him. Seriously.
“Everybody ran out. It was terrifying.”
The 24-year-old stars alongside Reese Witherspoon in his latest film Water For Elephants, about a veterinary student who joins a circus.
Stars including rapper P-Diddy and actor Johnny Depp also suffer from a fear of clowns, known as coulrophobia, according to The Sun.
