Abercrombie padded bikini tops

Abercrombie padded bikini tops
Swimsuit season is looming and stores are galore with itsy bitsy bikinis.

But shockingly, one of America's largest clothing retail chains, Abercrombie & Fitch, is marketing padded bikini tops to girls as young as eight.

Included in the current spring line for Abercrombie Kids (a division of the fashion company specifically dedicated to eight to 14 year olds) is the "Ashley" Push-Up Triangle -- a triangular-shaped bikini top which comes complete with thick padding.

Moms and child development experts are aghast over the garment and the damage it could potentially do to young girls in making them feel inadequate with their pre-adolescent bodies.

"This is appalling! If a parent buys a padded bikini for an eight-year-old, children's services should be called! The sexualization of teens is bad enough and now this trend is trickling down to our babies," parenting expert Dr. Janet Rose said.

Katie Couric

Katie Couric considers leaving 'CBS Evening News'
The Katie Couric era at the "CBS Evening News" appears to be drawing to a close.

Couric, whose five-year contract to anchor the network's nightly news program expires in early June, is looking more likely to take a shot at daytime television, people familiar with the situation said.

Almost from the day she started, there has been speculation that Couric was not as comfortable working the evening shift as she was in her previous job as co-anchor of NBC's hugely successful morning show, "Today." Ratings for all network newscasts have declined sharply during the past decade while the morning shows have become profit centers.

Although Couric may exit network news, she could still end up working for CBS in daytime. She has been consulting with Jeff Zucker, her former producer on "Today" and the ex-chief executive of NBCUniversal, on a new talk show and has been pitching CBS as well as NBC and ABC.

Couric also wants to keep a toe in news. A deal with CBS, for example, could also include appearances on "60 Minutes" and other news programs, a person at the network said.

Gadhafi Plastic Surgery

Gadhafi Plastic Surgery
It was well past midnight when the Brazilian surgeon says he was escorted deep inside a bunker in the Libyan capital.

His assignment: to shave years off Moammar Gadhafi's appearance by removing fat from his belly and injecting it into his wrinkled face. The Libyan leader also got hair plugs.

"He told me that he had been in power for 25 years at that time, and that he did not want the young people of his nation to see him as an old man," Dr. Liacyr Ribeiro recalled. "I recommended a facelift, but he refused."

The secretive four-hour procedure in 1995 was done, at Gadhafi's insistence, with local anesthesia because he wanted to remain alert. Midway through, the Libyan leader stopped to have a hamburger.
